Dallas ICE shooting eliminates, wounds people, Noem says

At least two people are dead after a shooter opened up fire at an Migration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The gunman died from a self-inflicted shot, federal authorities stated.

There were clashing reports concerning the number of victims from the shooting, which Dallas Police replied to around 6: 40 a.m. local time.

Cops said 2 individuals were moved to a hospital with gunfire wounds after the assault.

“One target passed away at the scene. The suspect is deceased,” cops claimed in an X blog post.

“The initial investigation established that a suspicious opened up fire at a federal government building from a surrounding building,” stated authorities, who prepare to hold a news briefing later Wednesday.

An ICE speaker informed NBC Information that the shooter shot three people, killing 2.

The agent claimed the 3 targets are ICE detainees.

Deputy ICE supervisor Madison Sheahan told Fox News , “Currently, we understand that none of our officers have actually been hurt.”

Department of Homeland Protection spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told Fox, “We understand that there were three casualties, potentially detainees, not ICE law enforcement at this time.”

Performing ICE Director Todd Lyons claimed in a CNN meeting that preliminary details suggests the shooter was a “feasible sniper.”

“It’s just a sad time that we need to bother with violence versus police,” Lyons said.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem , in an X post, said, “While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unmatched physical violence against them.”

“It needs to stop. Please pray for the sufferers and their households,” composed Noem, whose department supervises ICE.

Noem originally stated that the shooting occurred at an ICE detention facility. Yet she soon edited her message to make clear that it occurred at a field office.
